For nearly two decades, our founders were deeply connected to Sri Lanka's apparel supply chain, working behind the scenes with some of the world's leading fashion brands. Through those years, one belief remained constant — fashion should create less waste, stay relevant to real people, and be built more responsibly at a fair price.

But the industry followed a different rhythm.

Large brands produced massive quantities based on forecasts and assumptions. Much of it never sold. Unsold inventory ended up discounted, forgotten in warehouses, or sent to landfills — while everyday consumers ultimately carried the hidden cost of that waste.

At the same time, manufacturers were pushed to build larger factories, heavier management structures, and operate on growing debt. Producing higher volumes became a matter of survival. Somewhere along the line, those costs were always passed down to the people buying the product.

Changing that system from within was never easy. So they stepped away from the traditional 7:30 to 5:30 path to build something more personal.

Sand & You was created with a simple idea: make only what people truly want, grow together with a loyal community, reduce unnecessary waste, price products honestly, and create opportunities for communities to earn while living more balanced lives.
